Sharaf Abbas Khan is a post-graduate development sector professional with three decades of experience in programme planning and management, project management, monitoring, research, evaluation, and general administration. His domain expertise spans health, education, human trafficking, child rights, livelihoods, microfinance, and women’s empowerment. He has partnered extensively with the corporate sector, alongside central and state governments and community-based voluntary organisations and has consulted for organisations delivering community development services.
Mr. Khan’s global exposure spans India, the UAE, Oman, China, and the United Kingdom, where he has been instrumental in developing marketplace partnerships with renowned corporates and industries across these markets. Working within markedly different business cultures and regulatory environments, he has built cross-border linkages that connect international enterprises with opportunities in India and the wider region, and carries that global perspective back into the organisations he leads.
An entrepreneur since 2004, Mr. Khan is Director of ‘Artifae‘, a Dubai-based firm connecting global businesses and supporting budding entrepreneurs, and Chief Executive of Social Consultancy Services (SCS), a social research organisation with a national presence across 11 Indian states. He formulates and executes organisational strategy; his institutional innovations have created agile projects and strategic development units, and driven diversification into verticals that have matured into sizeable businesses under his mentorship.
His other leadership and advisory engagements include the Management Board of JSS under India’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Secretary of Sharnam Seva Samiti, a voluntary organisation partnering with UN agencies on health, child protection, and immunisation; Director of IITCELL, a digital brand promotion company; Joint Secretary of the Lucknow University Alumni Foundation; advisory positions with the Samadhan Group and the Institute of Industrial Development, a Government of India incubator; Regional (India) Representative of the Cross Border Anti-Trafficking Network (CBATN); and Chief Patron of a Roll Ball Skating Association.
